Geography at Swan Tutoring

What to expect… A hybrid of the UK National Curriculum for PSHE and RE, these classes explore festivals, celebrations, and traditions from around the world in a fun and creative way. Lessons can include art, music, food, crafts, geography, science, and language, whilst learning about the countries and communities connected to these events. Children are encouraged to explore shared interests and reflect on similarities and differences between people and cultures.

Ideal for... Ages 5-11 who want to learn more about the world around them and the people within it. Perfect for curious learners who love exploring topics outside the usual core curriculum.

What to expect… Explore the planet one country at a time! Students will explore famous landscapes, try fun recipes from around the world, learn simple greetings in different languages, uncover surprising facts, and much more!


Ideal for… Ages 5–11 who want a more relaxed, creative learning experience that gets the imagination whirring. Great for learning with friends or in a group setting. We’d also recommend this class for those looking to gently ease back into some structured learning.

What to expect... Geography classes based on the UK National Curriculum for KS2, alongside some of the more challenging KS1 concepts. These classes explore places around the world, Earth's physical features, the animal kingdom, and current issues affecting both our planet and local communities. Through engaging video clips, songs, activities, and follow-on work, children can deepen their understanding of the world around them while developing a love and respect for nature and the environment.

Ideal for... Children learning at a Key Stage 2 level. Perfect for those who are interested in nature and the wider world around us.

What to expect...  Geography classes based on the UK National Curriculum for KS3. Lessons explore both physical and human geography topics including climate change, ecosystems, natural hazards, population, urbanisation, and global development. Sessions are interactive and include discussion, case studies, quizzes, and guided activities, which makes for engaging and enjoyable lessons.

Ideal for... Students working at year 7, 8 and 9 level. Ideal for anyone wanting to stay aligned with the curriculum in preparation for potential future GCSE study. A great fit for young ones who enjoy learning about the world around us and current global issues.
