What to expect… Phonics taught in a fun way using methods supported by Ruth Miskin. Lessons are very interactive, with games and hands-on activities being included each week to make the learning engaging to young children. Our phonics classes cover phases 2-5, and then progress beyond this to explore spelling rules.

Ideal for... Young children beginning their reading and writing journey, as well as learners who are already developing these skills and would benefit from extra support to build confidence and strengthen their understanding.
 

What to expect… Lessons follow the UK National Curriculum objectives for Early Years Foundation Stage 2. English and maths are taught throughout the sessions, with elements of other subjects such as PSHE, science, and more introduced where appropriate. Lessons are relaxed and engaging, and include stories, songs, interactive games, and fun discussions. Follow-on activities are often play-based to encourage creativity and reinforce learning in a natural, child-led way.

Ideal for... Children aged 4-7 who are beginning their learning journey. These classes are a great way to gently introduce a little structured learning into the week, while providing a flexible framework that parents can build on if they wish. They also help young children to build confidence learning in a group setting and become comfortable learning from different people.
